Meet the heart of Silva Fabula and join us on a journey through our wildcrafted life, where tradition and nature inspire everything we do.
The family living in an ecovillage nested in the largest forest array in Lithuania, far from industrial sites or agricultural fields.
We grow medicinal and therapeutic mushrooms, grow and forage medicinal herbs.
Seasonal vegetables and berries are grown for family needs. All these treasures are dried combined into teas or processed into tinctures oils and salves. We do not source any major ingredients. Instead we grow and collect everything in the wild ourselves.
Plants: Artemisia annua (Sweet mugwort), Artemisia absinthium common wormwood).
Mushrooms: Ganoderma lucidum (Reishi), Hericium erinaceus (Lion’s mane).
Mushrooms are grown on locally sourced sawdust supplemented with spelt bran. In contrast to the industrial sites our mushrooms enjoy natural sunlight as it is substantial factor to produce active substances while growing.
All plants are nourished following natural agriculture principles and techniques.
Plants and mushrooms are dried naturally allowing them to release moisture gradually. Very rarely we use a dehydrator.
We make tinctures following alchemical principles – triple extraction. In the first step, a plant (or a mushroom) is extracted with alcohol. At the second step, it is extracted with water. Finally, it is strained and dried. The strained mater is burned to white ash. Then the ash is dissolved in water and filtered. All these three parts are then combined together. This extraction method is called Spagyric, when Body Spirit and Soul are extracted from the plant and afterwards combined together again.
The intention to live in the nature, will to act and create together were hiding inside for a long time. This step forwards was taken four years ago, and led to the place we are now.
